Setting up external storage

- 1. Locate a USB port on the back of the Xbox One S to insert an external storage device.
- 2. Scroll to Use for media and press the A button.
- 3. You will need a Media Browser app before you can access the external drive. The Xbox One S will display the install page for media browser, scroll to Get and press the A button to install it.
- 4. The Media Player app will now download.
- 5. Scroll to Launch and press the A button.
- 6. Once the Media Player app has been installed, the external drive is set up for media. Scroll to the desired drive to access and press the A button.
- 7. To set up the external drive for games and apps, the storage device needs to be formatted. To format the drive, from the home page press the Guide button.
- 8. Scroll to System and press the A button.
- 9. Scroll to Settings and press the A button.
- 10. Scroll to System and press the A button.
- 11. Scroll to Storage and press the A button.
- 12. Scroll to the desired storage (E.g. External) and press the A button.
- 13. Scroll to Format for games & apps and press the A button.
- 14. Scroll to Format storage device and press the A button.
- 15. If you would like to give your external storage device a name, press the A button.
- 16. Enter a name for the storage device, then scroll to Enter and press the A button.
- 17. Choose a default storage location. Scroll to the desired option (E.g. Install new things on here) and press the A button.
- 18. Scroll to Format storage device and press the A button.
