First Time Setup — Wireless Connection
1. Press the Power button.
2. Press the A button.
3. Select your language and press the A button.
4. Select your region and press the A button.
5. Select your desired content controls and press the A button.
6. Scroll to your Wi-Fi network and press the A button.
7. Enter the password for the Wi-Fi network and press the Start button.
8. If you receive a message requesting you to update now, choose the desired option and press the A button.
9. Your Xbox will restart after downloading the update.
10. Choose the desired option (E.g. Join Xbox Live) and press the A button.
11. Press the A button on the controller.
12. To change the indicated time zone press A button.
13. Scroll to the desired time zone and press the A button.
14. Scroll to Next and press the A button.
15. If you have a Kinect press the A button to set it up.
If not, scroll to Skip and press the A button and go to step 21.
16. Position yourself in front of the Kinect device and when it recognizes you, scroll to Yes, Kinect can see me and press the A button.
17. Scroll to Start audio check and press the A button.
18. The console will begin to check the sound volume of your TV, adjust the TV volume as described on screen.
19. The console will begin to calibrate the Kinect microphone.
20. Once the sound setup has completed, press the A button.
21. To complete the Kinect setup, press the A button.
22. Press the A button.
23. Select the desired power option and press the A button.
24. Press the A button.
25. Enter your Xbox account and press the Start button.
26. Enter the password and press the Start button.
27. Scroll to Next and press the A button.
28. Select the desired security preference and press the A button.
29. If you are using the Kinect and it recognizes you select That is me and press the A button.
30. Press the A button.
31. Press the A button.
32. Either purchase a Gold account or scroll to No thank you and press the A button to continue.
33. You may be offered a months free trial of a Gold account, you can either accept it by scrolling to Continue and pressing the A button or scroll to No thank you and press the A button.
34. The console is now ready to use.
