How to Reset PS5 via Safe Mode

Ensure the PlayStation is turned off fully.

Press and hold the Power button on the front of the console until you have heard 2 beeps. After the second beep, release the Power button.

Connect the controller via the USB cable.
- 4.
Press the PS button on the controller.
- 5.
Scroll to Reset PS5 and press the X button.
IMPORTANT: All user data will be deleted and the PS5 console will be restored to its original state.
- 6. Scroll to Yes and press the X button.
- 7. Your console will begin the Reset process. Once complete your console will restart.
- 8.
Alternatively, select Reset PS5 (Reinstall System Software). If you select this option you will need the System Software stored on a USB device ready to install.
