  • 1.

    Ensure the PlayStation is turned off fully.

  • 2.

    Press and hold the Power button on the front of the console until you have heard 2 beeps. After the second beep, release the Power button.

  • 3.

    Connect the controller via the USB cable.

  • 4.

    Press the PS button on the controller.

  • 5.

    Scroll to Reset PS5 and press the X button.

    IMPORTANT: All user data will be deleted and the PS5 console will be restored to its original state.

  • 6. Scroll to Yes and press the X button.
  • 7. Your console will begin the Reset process. Once complete your console will restart.
  • 8.

    Alternatively, select Reset PS5 (Reinstall System Software). If you select this option you will need the System Software stored on a USB device ready to install.
